The California Primary Election takes place on March 5, 2024. Primary elections tend to have lower voter turnout than General Elections, which means the primary election doesn’t always represent the diversity of California’s electorate.

This is because voters who turn out for primary elections tend to be older, whiter, wealthier, and have higher levels of educational attainment than the whole California electorate. Participating in this March 5th Primary Election is crucial in ensuring that California’s diversity is represented in our democratic process.
